Freya and Mark met while training to become chefs in the early 90's – Freya at Silwood Kitchen, and Mark at The Granger Bay Hotel school. Upon qualifying, they headed off on cooking adventures at fine dining establishments in New York, London and even Sydney. While in London they both studied an advanced Pastry Diploma at Thames Valley University. At this time, Freya decided the Pastry kitchen was for her, leaving Mark as the savoury expert!
Upon arriving back in SA, they took up positions as Chef lecturers at the Institute of Hotel and Tourism management in Mafikeng. Much as they loved training the next generation of chefs, Cape Town was calling, so they returned on 2001.
Freya kept herself busy with supplying friends with birthday cakes, and in no time the demand for more catering forced Mark to quit his job as a head chef, and join her! Together they have grown the business into a trusted, local provider of tasty, simple sweet and savoury snacks, meals, birthday cakes and sometimes even some once-off special deals
